    • In August 1942, Frank was training in Co. D, 35th Medical Training Battalion, 4th Platoon, at Camp Grant, IL. In December 1942, he was receiving advanced training as part of Company F, 2nd Battalion, 6th Medical Regiment, at Camp Young, Indio, CA.

      He was a PFC in the 609th Medical Clearing Company at demobilization in late 1945.

      He received the Purple Heart for shrapnel injuries sustained in battle in France. He also received the Good Conduct Medal.
