"Salley Franklin a widow residing in this county made it appear to the satisfaction of the court by the oath of two credible witnesses that she is not worth $100 of her own right which is ordered to be certified to the auditor of public accounts as the law directs allowing poor widows one hundred acres of land warrant."

- While Sally Franklin does not appear by name in a census for 1840, there is a household entry for Shadrach Franklin (aged between 20-30); in that household there is a female aged 70-80. Presumably this is Sarah "Sally" Franklin.

Death |
Aft 1850 |
Wise, Virginia, United States |
- In an 1885 listing of the membership of the Big Glades Church on Indian Creek, Wise County, VA, one Sally Franklin is listed on the rolls among the deceased. There is no indication of the year of her death. However, the church was constituted and licensed in 1865, so it would seem that she may have lived beyond that date.
One can infer from circumstances that this is the same Sarah (Sally) Spears who was mother of Byrd Franklin, since he is listed on the church rolls. His wife Agnes was listed on the rolls as "dismissed".
