  • Notes 
    • "Bolling, Robert, Jr., was son of Col. John Bolling, of "Cobbs", and lived at "Chellowe" in Buckingham county. He was born at Varina, Henrico county, Aug. 17, 178, and was educated at Wakefield, Yorkshire, England. He was a man of learning, and wrote "The Bolling Memoir", besides two volumes of verse. He was a member of the house of burgesses for Cumberland from 1761 to 1765, and of the convention of July, 1775. He married (first) Mary Burton; (second) Susannah Watson. Died in 1775."
